E-Verify is a U.S. government database that employers can use to verify the employment eligibility of prospective hires. Both the U.S. government and some states are attempting to make use of this database mandatory against the protests of various immigration, business and other advocacy groups. One of the key problems with this database is its unacceptable error rate, which results in citizens and non-citizens alike receiving non-confirmation notices.

In the quaint old world of sports we all understand that the game itself has its foibles , history but above we’re led to believe its honesty, dignity and integrity . He states the following ……”Winning is not a sometime thing, it’s an all time thing. You don’t win once in a while, you don’t do things right once in a while, you do them right all the time.

The Federal Housing Administration stepped up to guarantee low-downpayment mortgages for riskier buyers after the mortgage market crashed. Now with many of them in default, the FHA’s losses have mounted, and it’s possible that its reserves will fall below the 2 percent level required by law. If that happens, taxpayers may have to bail out FHA. Some housing analysts say that this will lead to tighter restrictions on FHA mortgages.

My previous article suggesting today was the right time to start getting back to real estate investing was met with expected cynicism. Investors make money by going against the crowd, not with it, right? By the time everyone agrees that you should be getting back into real estate, you really should have been back six months earlier. But it is important to address the very legitimate concerns of those still urging caution. The major concern was what if the market gets worse.

Real estate in Hong Kong either proves that the global recession is coming to an end, or just how desperate some people are to have ultimate luxury. Word is that the world’s largest property developer by market value, Sun Hung Kai Properties, is raising the prices for two of their penthouses on the 91st and 93rd of a 70-meter (886-feet) tower in the city, by 50-percent. Forced by the increasing demand for luxury properties, the company is asking for a staggering HK$75,000 ($9,700) per square foot, adding to a total of $38.5 million each.

My weekly list of things I meant to say, follow-ups, requests, all the personal finance news that need to be cleaned up and aired out. First, off, First-time home buyer… When I was writing recently about the looming deadline for first-time homebuyers to get their act together and to buy the house by Nov. 30, I assumed the real estate lobby would want to get that deadline extended. But it’s not. At least openly. Openly, the real estate folks want us to get those deals done now.

Interesting article from American Banker which describes how regional banks are seeing older Americans struggle to repay their loans as the recession scrambles once-optimistic plans for retirement. Specifically, the article points out that senior citizens are finding it difficult to pay off their mortgage on retirement properties because they haven’t been able to sell their primary homes. “Real estate has remained under pressure … . Do these borrowers ultimately sell their house and move to the mountains of North Carolina? Maybe.

One of those realms which has received very little coverage, but will have major implications for the economy and markets going forward, is “strategic mortgage defaults.” What are strategic mortgage defaults and what will be the growing impact of this phenomena? Let’s navigate. High five to KD of 12th Street Capital for bringing this development to our attention.

Here is an Ecuador banking update from a subscriber who just read the Garyascott.cm message Ecuador Banking Notes. Hi Gary, I am glad I read the tip about checking for fake bills right after making an ATM withdrawal! We have had good luck sending wire transfers from our personal Washington Mutual (now Chase) account in Florida to various banks in Ecuador. They don’t charge an outgoing wire fee. Even if we have to pay a fee to receive the funds in Ecuador, when we need to send several thousand dollars and have it available quickly this has worked well for us. Our Chase business account, however, does charge an outgoing fee.

by Ivan Restlsor All these factors influence the trend of real estate anywhere (not in just Colorado). Moreover, you will need to hunt for Colorado real estate opportunities by going to public auctions, foreclosures, teaming up with attorneys for information etc. Again, remember that a not-so-good news about any real estate (be it Colorado real estate or Florida real estate), doesnt mean that real estate investment wont make sense at that place; in fact, it might cut down the number of competitors you have.
